About This Ministry

Jesus placed a high priority on kids and knew they were the building blocks for the future generations. To fulfill that call, we offer an exciting, faith-building children's ministry to promote spiritual growth in a safe and caring environment. Our desire is to partner with parents to nurture and encourage a genuine walk with Jesus! During the 1st service, we have small groups for our K-4th graders, and during the 2nd service, we have Children's Worship. On the 5th Sunday of every month, Easter Sunday, and Christmas Sunday, we have family worship. K-6th attend small groups during the 1st service and are picked up to attend the 2nd service all together as a family in the worship center. Small groups on Sunday morning provide a fun time of interactive, age-appropriate, Bible lessons with other peers in their age group. Between services we offer a kids cafe time where they can play games, fellowship with other kids, and enjoy a snack. We have Wednesday night activities for all ages from 6:30-7:45pm. These offer kids a chance to connect with each other and with God mid-week. We have many other activities throughout the year for kids and their families such as: Fall Fun Fair, numerous family events, VBS, and Summer Camp!

Children's Ministry Age Groups

Nursery (Ages birth - 3 years)

A safe and secure place for our little ones to take beginning steps with Jesus is available during both services on Sunday mornings and Wednesday night service. The Nursery kids learn to praise God at an age-appropriate level through songs and Bible stories.

Preschool (Pre-Kindergarten)

With a variety of hands-on activities, crafts, songs, games, and Bible stories, preschoolers learn about Jesus during both services on Sunday mornings and Wednesday night services.

Elementary (Ages Kindergarten - 4th grade)

Fun, exciting Bible lessons await kindergarten - 4th grade kids in Small Groups, Children's Worship, and on Wednesday evenings.

Our Wednesday night activities for K-4th graders meets from 6:30pm-7:45pm. We spend time playing games, doing crafts, singing songs, and taking a fun theme and tying it into the Bible and God's story.

Preteen (Ages 5th - 6th Grades)

Quest & STIX Ministries

Understanding the uniqueness of this age group, the Preteens are separated into their own ministry while still being a part of Seeker Kids. On Sunday mornings, preteens have their own Worship Service during the 1st service and their own small group during the 2nd service.

On Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm-7:45pm, our preteens can participate in our STIX ministry (which is movement to music) and LTS (Learn Turn and Serve) where they are given the opportunity to serve.

Preteen Events are held approximately every other month. These events can include things like our annual Lock-in, service projects, games, activites, food, etc. Learning to serve is key in this age group.

Lead Team

Our 4th, 5th, and 6th graders have a unique opportunity to serve and lead within the kids department. We have a lead team that they can be a part of that consists of working in the tech booth, helping with clean up, and welcoming and greeting new friends and making sure they feel welcomed. This requires training and a meeting with a parent or guardian to go over expectations.

The 6th graders also get another opportunity to serve within RCN in 3 different areas. We love serving and leading by example here at RCN. For more information about the lead team or the 6th grade opportunities please contact the children's pastor.

RCN's Children's Bible Quizzing (Ages 1st - 6th Grades)

Children's Bible Quizzing is a Bible study for children in 1st-6th grade. It is important to help children know what the Bible says so they can demonstrate Biblical teachings in real life situations. Quizzing also teaches children about God. We have two levels in quizzing: the Red level for 1st-3rd graders and the Blue level for 4th-6th graders.

Our children's Bible quizzing program meets on Sunday afternoons typically from 4pm-5:30pm from the months of August through March and provides an opportunity for kids to have fun and get involved in a little friendly competition with other kids around our district and region, as well as learning God's Word!
